Jesus wants His people to connect with him through the Spirit. The unfortunate thing is that we constantly need reminders of this fact. Jesus has now spend several chapters reminding the disciples that they must stay with Him and he will send a Helper to guide them after He is gone. This continues in today’s chapter.

The Gospel of John: John 14

On the night Jesus was betrayed he took the role of a servant and washed the disciples feet. Knowing that he was above all creation, he took the role of a servant to serve those that were below him. Yet Jesus knows that there is still more the disciples will need in the time to come. Simply serving them is not enough. They need something else.
